Liperin Höyläämö Ky is a pioneer in the industrial production of white-waxed panels. The company’s development in the 21st century has determinedly concentrated on product development and finished products. Today, the total annual capacity of Liperin Höyläämö’s two production lines is more than 20,000 m3 of high-quality exterior and interior panels.
Liperin Höyläämö specialises in white-waxed interior panels made of Finnish pine and tongued and grooved at the ends. About 90 per cent of the company’s products are exported, and the family company employs 10 people.
Liperin Höyläämö has a long tradition. The company’s roots are in the 1950s in Leppälahti, Liperi, where the Pulkkinen brothers worked as sawyers with their portable sawmill. The tradition was continued by Asko Pulkkinen, who established Leppälahden Höyläämö, expanding the sawing business into a planing mill. After growing into a family enterprise and changing its name to Liperin Höyläämö, the company implemented its first finishing line, according to its own design, in 1989.
Located in the best area for Finnish pine, Liperin Höyläämö is now being passed down through the family to Pasi and Tomi Pulkkinen, who have invested in production lines and product development. Liperin Höyläämö aims to increase its sales in both Central Europe and Finland via various distribution channels.
